From being the only black child in a white community of over 4,000 residents, where she was fully immersed in love by her white foster family and the community – her childhood experience with them, between 2 months old to 8 years most certainly cushioned her for the ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) that she was to experience when she left her foster family.

MORE ABOUT TOYIN

She overcame some unbearable childhood traumas and has come out resilient, strong and bringing, openly to light the ‘hushed’ childhood traumas, endured in adulthood.

She has always loved reading books, even when nothing sunk in. She always knew she would write her own books one day, especially when she realised her life experiences were turning into something like a movie.

Toyin gets excited when she learns something new and makes sure her kids get to know this, they are not always as enthused as she is of course. She lives in the UK with her husband and two children.

She has completed a Speak and Inspire course with Mindvalley, delivering communication courses to corporate industries to enhance fully functional teams.
